“just whack” - the universally accepted method

okay this is super amusing. hahaha for my piece the last part is like filled with chords, and to get the proper effect i just put all my strength into my bow arm and whack the strings really hard. so tim tang puts this ff score as his display picture, with cluster chords, and this is what happens:

me:	how do you play cluster chords?
tim:	just whack anything between the box
me:	.. just whack?
me:	lol
tim:	seriously
me:	i guessed as much

yep, “just whack” is universal haha. even my teacher said it, she was like “you’re not loud enough! and you’re not playing all the notes in the chord!” so i said, “… how do i do that it’s three notes across three strings!” and she said, “aiya if you press hard enough with your bow you can play three strings at once, just whack!” super amusing.

actually i think my violin lesson is rather a waste of time because when i’m not playing me and my teacher are talking about random stuff like her kids and my sister. hmm. anyway i’m like practicing for the first time in nearly a week and i think i suck haha. concert’s in one week, ohnoz! /worried.

and there are surprisingly a lot of violin videos on youtube. there’s one really funny one of a girl playing bach, partita no.3 in E major, preludio. she’s got her hair up in a bun, and every few bars she intensifies her playing and makes this forward movement with her upper body. and every time she does that, her bun wobbles! omg amusing. but her playing is actually not bad. just that i was laughing at her hair): i’m quite evil heh. but when i play i’m like this stone statue so at least spasms and wobbly buns are better than that.

okay i shall go back to practicing now. i spent the first half of my day motivating myself to take out my violin. so now when my violin is actually out, i’ll practice for one part, stop, then start practicing again. not very good practice ethos, but heh. the fact that i’m actually practicing is amazing already :D gosh i really must practice more lol.
