first roll of film on the vivitar

these aren’t including the photos that were blurry/had my finger in them, both due to the fact that the viewfinder is a lie.

re: sunset and underexposed flowers, every damn shot i risk my life for turns out badly. @($%!!!

developing 36 exposures cost me $15.90, and 4 rolls of film $13. now i know why they invented digital cameras; film is indecently expensive. my mom tells me there is a shop in bras basah where they develop at 15 cents per piece but i doubt it is like that anymore.

  1. indecently expensive is right. nowadays i just ask them to develop and scan to a cd. forget about printing every shot each time, it’s not worth the money.

    haha don’t go jumping in front of cars now.

  2. BUT MY FRIEND SEZ

    SCANNING IS EXPENSIVE TOO

    ?!?!? wahlao the shop at beauty world charged me $4 for processing RIPOFF but i gave them my second roll to develop anyway.

    blearghh. and i told the uncle not to print the overexposed/underexposed ones but but but. it’ll make me/my camera SEEM SO NOOB

    jono how do you tell if it’s underexposed or overexposed? like my orange and pink flower one.

  3. WANNA TALK ABOUT NOOB my last roll of film yielded FIVE photos!!!!!!!! that werent’ like overexposed! D< stupid spoilt camera ;___;

  4. eh at the place that i (used to) print at they charge 36 cents apiece to print. so if you print all 36 shots that’s basically $13 already. not including the $4 they charge to process the film (which is pretty normal, sorry to say).

    scanning to a CD is roughly $5 (on top of processing). so yeah it’s roughly half the cost. you don’t get the physical prints though, just the negatives and a CD so it’s a tradeoff.

    haha er looking at the orange and pink flower photo it looks underexposed; there’s no contrast between the light/dark areas. normally you can tell since underexposed photos are too dark while overexposed ones are too bright. not in this case.

    may be the camera’s fault though. vivitars aren’t exactly precision cameras. plus lomos are supposed to produce wonky results, just not always in a WHA THAT’S AWESOME kind of way.

  5. no no no the shop at west mall where i bought my film ($13 for four rolls, according to my friend thats the cheapest she’s seen) they charged me $3!!

    and @your last paragraph: hahaha i know. not stupid, jono!!

    to sam: HAHAHA im collecting my second roll tomorrow ;_; apprehensive.
